Source Temperature Controller
High Tech Services repairs and calibrates the Schumacher Source Temperature Controllers and their driving power supplies.
Temperature control is accomplished by driving a thermo electric cooler (TEC) with a constant current. This provides a constant source for cooling. This cooling is overcome by one or two 100-watt heaters that are physically mounted next to the TEC and are electrically driven by a conventional temperature controller. Both the TEC and the heaters are imbedded or potted in insulation that is formed around the container.
We first test the unit to determine the failure and then strategically cut into the potting to replace the defective device. The unit is then repotted, performance tested and calibrated before it is shipped back to the customer.
